On our way home.....(Saturday)

On the road by 9 again this morning, was freezing cold again.....must be getting further down south again;(

First stop of the day was in Mount Magnet........ (The all important "toilet stop on a REAL toilet")


Every little town has an old hotel like this one - I think they're great!

We were driving behind this MASSIVE dump truck tray, then we had to pass it - Nic was first so he had double lanes..... Then it was our turn - yeah double lanes ended...... Freaky as!!!!!


After God blessed us with an uneventful trip home, He also gave us a BEAUTIFUL sky to come home to......

Meekatharra..... (Friday)

Another beautiful morning..... We have been very blessed with our weather - no rain and glorious mornings, as well as calm nights.

As we were driving toward Meekathara, we came across a truck graveyard, as well as a storage yard for mustering buggies......

Just before town we saw a group of wedge tailed eagles feasting on some road-kill. As we drove past they flew off, but landed again before the Berkelaar's came up so Sonya was able to get some awesome shots.

There was this really neat truck at the park where we had lunch.....

After driving from Meekathara we went through Cue and then started looking for a campsite, which we found about half an hour south of Cue off the side of the road down the back past some trees and over a few hills and dales etc lol

Cattle Pool and Mount Augustus (Thursday)

Another beautiful morning to wake up to. Steve got up,early to take these shots. We got in late last night so no time to take photos apart from sunset shots - always have time for them! This is on the Gascoyne river.








The boys trying out early morning fishing....not that there were any!


This was Steve's great reflection shot....early morning on the Gascoyne.


Our first stop in the morning was Cobra Station. Everyone hopped out and used a proper loo.....aaah the luxuries!





This was a shot of Mt Augustus from a distance. There's nothing like the contrast of the red and the blue colors in the outback.





Trying to show the height of the Mt against the size of the car...doesn't do it justice though.


We stopped for lunch at Cattle Pool, pretty much opposite Mt Augustus inland a bit. Nice place, but in a national park, so....restrictions, restrictions!

This was the shop at Mt Augustus Caravan Park.





The boys figured they'd kill time climbing trees, while we were tanking up with fuel. We had to wait a bit as the guy who ran the shop was having his lunch break.


Walking a trail at Mt Augustus....no, we didn't climb to the summit...we've got kids (that's our excuse anyway, and we're sticking to it!). Plus it's a six hour track up and back and we didn't get there til 12:30 so......pass.

Finally found a camp site after a few dramas. We thought we'd found one about an hour earlier, but pretty much got kicked off due to some dude yelling at us to get off his land as they were mustering. We had the option of staying and having bulls charging through our campsite, or going else where...we chose going else where...don't know why :) we ended up camping on Walberg Station.
