Cape York Sunday:)

Sunday started off with rain, rain and more rain..... It didn't rain hard, it just drizzled on and off; just hard enough to make you pack everything away, and then it would stop!!!!
The boys (Aidyn and Kade) got up early and headed down to the beach for a scrounge around. They found LOTS of treasures!!!! They found an very awesome hand made spear with a jelly rubber attached so they can shoot it.....AWESOME - now they can spear each other!!!! Lol. They also found a lure and 25 old cigarette lighters.

Aidyn put them in order for a photo......

Our neighbors found this massive praying mantis.......

If you look closely, it's wings look just like a leaf......

If you know me, you should know that there is NO WAY that I'd be this close to something jumpy, unless it was dead...... Haha tricked you!!!!!!

The caravan park in Umagico was way to noisy for us to have church there, so we went for a drive down to the Bamaga Boat ramp, (the boat ramp goes down into Fishbone creek which opens into the Jackey Jackey Creek - Grandad Evans was stationed here in WW2) had a look, found a nice little spot off a side track and set up for church. Because it was raining so often, we had to put out both of our campers off the sides of the car - that was our church building:)
We listened to a sermon from Reverend B DeJonge, from the Canadian
Reformed churches, on the story about the prostitute who washed Jesus feet with her tears and hair. The moral of the sermon was that we shouldn't judge people for what they have done in the past but let the love of Jesus shine through and show them that they too can be saved!!!

The boat ramp.....looks crocodilish hey?

The big sign kinda gives it away too......

The marshy side of the boat ramp......

After the sermon and sermon discussion we drove back to our camp, via the WW 2 plane wrecks that are in the bush there.

The front of the plane......

The back of the plane......

The wings........

Lots of old fuel drums......

A DC3 wreck......

5 men died in this crash ;(.......

Shana was in Brad and Michelles car on the way home from church and they stopped to pat some of the horses that roam around......

Shana and Savannah with one of the horses.....

Seeing that we hadn't had time to take the boys down to the jetty in Seisia to go fishing, we did so after looking at the plane wrecks......

Steve and Cameron rigging up......

Shana fishing off the warf.......

And Kade........happy happy:)

Shana caught a Barracuda.......:) yay!!!! We let it go so that it could grow......

Some locals showing us how it's done!!!!.....(using a throw net) they caught heaps!!!! They look like herrings to me but the locals call them sardines....

On our way back to camp we saw this new foal......

Back at camp the boys proceeded to torture the trees in the area..... If you crouch right down it makes the branch go down.....

Then stand there and you pop back up!!!!!
This was all fun and games, until Aidyn fell out the tree and landed flat on his back!!!! He was fine but he gave us all a fright because we thought they had the spear with them.....but they didn't.....phew!!!!!

Ok that's all from us today......
Lots of love the Barramundi's xxx
