Coming into Cairns

Today was the day that we chose to go home.:( all good things come to an end eventually, just like this part of our holiday.
We put in a good long morning of driving and made it to Hann River Roadhouse where we had lunch under the trees in the shade.
They have a pet Emu which decided that our lunch seemed interesting, so it came over for look.
All the kids shorter then it (Shana, Aidyn and Kade) were rather scared of it, hiding either on the roof or in between the back doors of the car. We didn't pest them about it much at all!!!! Hehehe

As we came into a town called Lakelands, there was an 'under car seed remover spray thingo' (very technical name lol)

We rolled back into Cairns at about 6ish, had a very nourishing Hungry Jacks burger for dinner, then rolled home to Brad and Michelle's round 6.30 - 7ish.
Dad and Mum Evans were still there so the kids were very happy to be reunited with them (us adults were also..)
This was a part of the welcome crew......

Another furry friend.... This one was in the garage.....

After a long and tiring day of driving, we were happy to go to bed - in a camper!!! Luxury compared to how we'd been sleeping for the last 3 weeks:)
We had a fantastic holiday, did a lot of 4WDing, crossed roughly 130 creeks/rivers, saw only two crocs:(, only had to be recovered once, drove through scrubland, rainforest, and onto beach all within 10 kms, had a lot of enjoyment pesting Brad about things that happened on camping trips 3 years ago hahaha, met lots of interesting people enjoying the same adventure, and immensely admired God's creation in all the animals, insects, plants and the many varied landscapes. We thank the Lord for His love and care throughout this special time.
