We left the Lynd river and continued on the Ootann road (the road between Almaden and Mount Surprise)

The road we came to was part of the Savannah Way (a road between Broome to Cairns)........
First town we come to was Mount Surprise.......nice monument;)

Found this on the Internet for you Mum - thought that'd help show you where we are:)
This was an old stamper, part of the Nugent Bros. old gold battery....
On our way out of town there is a chimney in the middle of no where - it's the old Cumberland Chimney, which was part of another gold mine.......
This lagoon belonged to the same gold mine, where they collected water to aid the crushing of the gold bearing ore.....
Every where that we drove today, there were millions of termite mounds.....
The journey between Georgetown and Normanton was VERY monotonous!!! About 30kms out, We'd had enough of being in the car so we found. Little campsite off a side track. It ended up being an old road that crossed the 20 mile creek, so that was a perfect camps pot:)
